Two-week Trials

I am sensitive to how difficult it can be to narrow the search for a new violin. As most players are interested in trying a range of instruments, this process is often time-consuming. In an effort to encourage players to try one my instruments, I endeavor to make the trial of my violas or violins a simple and efficient procedure. The following describes the steps of setting up an instrument trial:

Step 1: The trial process begins with your contacting us at 865-215-9967 or by email to discuss which instruments we have available and whether any are suitable for your requirements as a player.

Step 2 : If we feel that we have an instrument that is a promising match for you, we will prepare the instrument for shipment, boxing it safely and sending overnight via FedEx. Our shop fully-insures the instrument for the entire duration and shipment of the trial and we pay for the expense of shipping the instrument to you. If we do not have an instrument on hand, we will provide you with an estimate on when in the future you might be able to try one of our instruments.

Step 3 : Upon receiving the instrument, you have two weeks to examine the instrument. We encourage you to play the instrument in as many settings as possible, from hall to practice room. It is also advisable to listen to others play your trial instrument.

Step 4: At the end of two weeks, you will likely pursue one of the following options: 1. You may like the instrument and wish to discuss purchasing it. or 2. You may conclude that the instrument is not a good fit for you, in which case you simply return the violin to us at your expense via FedEx two-day shipment. or 3. You may find yourself needing a bit more time to test the violin, in which case we are usually able to extend the trial period. Call us for a trial at (865) 215-9967 or contact us.
